MOUNT ANGEL — Knappa boys fell short in their quest for the 2012 state baseball championship Tuesday.

They lost 9-2 to Kennedy Tuesday to end their season. Kennedy scored five runs in the third inning to power into a strong lead. Knappa ended the game with only three hits.

Kennedy will play in the OSAA 2A/1A championship game in Keizer Friday against Weston-McEwen which beat Regis 10-7 in Tuesday's other semifinal.
