Astoria basketball clinics begin Saturday

Taylor Mickle, center, will be one of the players helping conduct Astoria's basketball skills clinic this month.

A basketball clinic for two different age groups will take place at Astoria High School on three separate dates in November.

The first camp is scheduled for Saturday. Students in the first through fourth grades can register at 9:30 a.m., and the camp runs from 10-11:30 a.m.

Registration for fifth- through eighth-grade students is at 11:30 a.m., and the camp runs from noon to 2 p.m.

Times are the same for camps Nov. 14 and Nov. 21.

Cost of the camp is $30 for all three sessions. All proceeds go to Astoria girls basketball. A T-shirt will be included.

The camp is put on by Astoria High School student Taylor Mickle for her senior project. Astoria’s coaching staff, along with current and former Astoria players, will be conducting the camp.

Registrations are available at Astoria schools, or students can register at the door on the day of the camp.
