Warrenton senior linebacker Nathan Bighill was one of two players selected as the Defensive Player of the Year for 2015, in Lewis & Clark League football.
Bighill shared the award with Clatskanie’s Dawson Howard, while Rainier running back Jacob Helton was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year. Rainier’s Mike King was Coach of the Year.
Rainier freshman Joey Tripp was selected as both a first team quarterback and first team defensive lineman.
The Warriors landed three players on the first-team offense, including senior receiver Gavon McFadden, senior lineman Eli Petersen and junior lineman Devon Bowser.
Warrenton had five players on the first-team defense: senior lineman Anthony Cochran, along with linebackers Bighill and Petersen, Bowser and McFadden.
Cochran was a second-team offensive lineman, and was joined on the second team by teammate Hunter Wilson, a senior tight end.
