CLOVERDALE — Dale Takalo scored 16 points in Cloverdale Saturday, helping Knappa to a 58-37 win over Nestucca in a Northwest League boys basketball game.
The Loggers built a 28-17 halftime lead, before the Bobcats came back and played evenly with Knappa in the third quarter.
“We looked like we were playing our third road game in six days,” said Knappa coach Chris Spencer. “They were scrappy, but we had some contributors off the bench and finally wore them down in the fourth quarter.”
Devin Hoover and Braedon Eltagonde both saw extended minutes and both scored points, while Takalo scored 13 of his 16 in the second half. Eli Takalo added 12 points for the Loggers, who closed the game with a 16-6 run.
Knappa returns for home games this week vs. Life Christian and Gaston.
