With their two wins over Astoria this season, the Seaside boys soccer team has taken over the all-time lead in the Clatsop Clash series, with the Gulls' latest victory a 3-1 decision Tuesday night at a breezy Broadway Field.

The Gulls opened the scoring just four minutes, 51 seconds into the game, with a left-footed shot from Migiel Campos finding the back of the net on a free kick just outside the penalty area.

Kaden Burch had Seaside's second goal, a well-placed corner kick that deflected into the net in the ninth minute; and Astoria's Cole Freeman took advantage of a strong wind gust with 2:55 left in the half, scoring on a free kick from 52 yards out.

Two Fishermen scoring opportunities early in the second half were halted by Seaside goalkeeper Riley Wunderlich, before the Gulls' Grant DeWinter scored when a free kick deflected off Astoria keeper Salvador Wienecke, giving Seaside a 3-1 lead.

With the exception of a 2-2 tie in 2017, Seaside has now won 11 of the last 12 meetings with Astoria since 2015. From 2011 to 2014, the Fishermen were 7-0-1 against the Gulls.

Seaside plays at 1 p.m. on Saturday in a playoff game at Hidden Valley.
