HILLSBORO The Clatsop Shot and Awe shotgun team hosted a trap competition Sept. 29 at the Hillsboro Trap and Skeet Club, and scored the team victory thanks to several individual wins.

Three teams participated, including Clatsop Shot and Awe, Woodland and Mid-Valley, and one team member of the Rouge Young Guns participated.

The competition included trap singles and trap doubles. Clatsop Shot and Awe was well-represented in the winners circle.

Lucy English took first place in the Ladies division, while Colton McMaster was first and Parker DeForest took second in the Rookie division.

In the Senior division, Michael Williams took first and Ian Hull was third.

Overall, Clatsop Shot and Awe edged Woodland for first place with a score of 269 to Woodland’s 262.

The competition was followed by a bunker trap clinic where the athletes were introduced to a new and exciting shotgun discipline.
