JEWELL — With just two regular season games remaining, the Jewell girls basketball team is tuning up for a possible big run in the playoffs.

The Lady Jays scored a low-scoring win Thursday night at home, 28-20 over Livingstone Adventist.

Celebrating “Senior Night” in the Jewell gymnasium, Jewell senior Emma Guillen scored 11 points to go with seven rebounds and six steals. Fellow senior Gabi Morales added five points, eight rebounds and six steals.

The Lady Jays had to rally from a 10-5 halftime deficit, which they did by outscoring the Lions 23-10 over the final two quarters.

Jewell improves to 9-3 in the Casco League, tied for second in the league standings with Crosshill Christian. The Jays play Tuesday at Crosshill, then finish the regular season next Thursday at Willamette Valley Christian.
