ILWACO, Wash. — Raymond held a 9-0 lead early in the second quarter, before the Ilwaco offense kicked in to gear, helping the Fishermen to a 35-17 win over the Seagulls.
Ilwaco recovered two onside kicks, and the Seagulls further helped the Fishermen with a fumble on another kickoff and a fumbled punt.
Ethan Bannister caught a 25-yard pass from Jack Odneal to open Ilwaco’s scoring midway through the second quarter. Alec Bell added a 1-yard scoring run, but the Fishermen still trailed 17-14 at halftime.
First place in the Pacific 2B League Coastal division, Ilwaco outscored the visitors 21-0 in the second half, highlighted by third quarter scores from Tenyson Ramsey (10-yard catch from Odneal), and a 38-yard scoring scamper from Odneal.
Brandon McMullen capped the night with a 1-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.
Odneal passed for 97 yards (8-of-17) and rushed for 78.
