In a match that did not include a single lead change until the fourth set, Willamina defeated Warrenton in a Coastal Range League playoff Tuesday night, 25-6, 22-25, 25-10, 25-22.

The regular season champion Bulldogs also captured the league's No. 1 seed to the state playoffs, which start Saturday. Warrenton is scheduled to play Saturday at Horizon Christian in Tualatin at 1 p.m.

The Bulldogs and Warriors played the momentum game over the first three sets in Tuesday's match.

Willamina jumped out to a 13-4 lead in Game 1, then outscored Warrenton 12-2 the remainder of the set.

The Warriors bounced back strong in Game 2, leading 9-5. A kill by Avyree Miethe and an ace serve from Jamie Annat led to an eventual 21-11 lead, before Willamina rallied to within 24-22 down the stretch.

Willamina led from start to finish again in Game 3, building a 16-6 lead following a kill from league Player of the Year Hallee Hughes, a 5-foot-11 junior.

The fourth set had six lead changes, which included a 21-20 advantage for the Warriors, before the Bulldogs — led by Hughes — finished the match with a 5-1 run.
