KNAPPA - Knappa played its third five-game set in five matches Monday night, and for the first time, the Loggers won in five, as they defeated Naselle in a marathon match, 25-13, 20-25, 25-20, 19-25, 19-17.
The Loggers trailed 14-7 in Game 5 before rallying for the win.
"Both teams really struggled tonight, that's why the match went five games," said Knappa coach Terry Hardy, whose team improves to 2-3. "We were really excited about pulling out a win."
Nadra Evans led Knappa with 11 kills, with Corey Jacobson pounding down nine kills and Tracie Nygaard adding seven.
The Loggers' Meagan Harn led all servers with 24 points, which included 10 ace serves.
Naselle also led 17-16 in Game 5, before Harn served up the final three points of the match.
Jewell sweeps RiverdaleJEWELL - The Jewell volleyball team swept past Riverdale Monday night, 25-15, 25-18, 25-6.
With its second straight three-game sweep, Jewell improved to 3-1 overall.
"We played awesome," said Jewell coach Ashley Weller. "All of our players played well - it was the best game we've played so far."
The Jays play at Columbia at 5:30 tonight.
