CORVALLIS — It was Dane Lund to the rescue last Thursday night in Corvallis.

The former Astoria Fisherman went 2-for-2 and stole a base to help the Corvallis Knights score a 6-3 win over the Mid-Valley Rockets of Albany at Goss Stadium in Corvallis.

Lund has been battling a knee injury that has limited his playing time, as he was making just his sixth appearance since June 18.

With one runner on and one out in the eighth inning of Thursday’s game, Corvallis’s Marc Gallegos had a single to left field, and Lund followed with another single to left. Alex Michaels then drove a two-run single to right.

Lund had entered in the sixth inning, and had a base hit to left in his first at-bat.
