R.A. Long 7, Rainier 3

LONGVIEW, Wash. - R.A. Long - which lost to Astoria last week - bounced back with a 7-3 win over Rainier Tuesday afternoon in a nonleague baseball game.

R.A. Long jumped out to a 3-1 lead after one inning, then added three runs in the fifth on its way to the victory.

Rainier pitchers Jack Whipple, Kyle Rask and Logan Andrews gave up a combined eight hits and six walks, and hit three batters. The Columbians also committed five errors.

It was the first loss of the season for Rainier (5-1), which hosts Camas (Wash.) Thursday.

No playLocal baseball games (Benson at Astoria, Knappa at Tillamook, White Salmon at Ilwaco) were all rained out Tuesday, as were softball games involving Knappa at Tillamook and White Salmon at Ilwaco.
