He's the "center of attention" in football and a league placer in wrestling. He's also the No. 7 hitter in the Astoria baseball lineup.
Senior Keifer Lucore has pulled off a rare triple combination in high school sports, earning varsity letters in football, wrestling and baseball.
There's plenty of football/wrestlers, but very few wrestlers who double as baseball players (and 4-H award winners at the Clatsop County Fair - Mason Brause was the last).
Lucore has done it successfully, earning first-team all-state honors as the Astoria center in football; finishing sixth at 189 pounds in the Cowapa League wrestling championships; and most recently he shares a spot in the starting lineup for the No. 1-ranked baseball team in the state.
Lucore has increasingly found his name in the box score, as he belted a run-scoring double in an 8-5 win over Seaside last week.
He's also active in 4-H, winning the Grand Champion award in Swine Showmanship (Senior Division) in last year's Clatsop County Fair.
