BANKS — Back-to-back days against the toughest softball teams in the Cowapa League left the Astoria Lady Fishermen with three straight losses, capped by an 11-1 defeat Tuesday at Banks.

The Fishermen played better against the No. 1-ranked Braves than they did in a doubleheader loss to Yamhill-Carlton Monday, but could only collect two hits (by Bailey Haskell and Mykka Abrahams) off freshman pitcher Makenna Partain of Banks.

The Braves jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one inning.

In other Cowapa softball action Tuesday, Scappoose defeated Seaside 12-2, and Yamhill-Carlton beat Tillamook 19-0. In Lewis & Clark League softball, Corbett defeated Warrenton 10-3.

Astoria plays a doubleheader at Tillamook Friday, while the Warriors host Valley Catholic.
