GASTON - Knappa won a slugfest at Gaston Tuesday afternoon, as the Loggers banged out 14 runs and 17 hits in a 14-12 Northwest League victory.

The Loggers improve to 6-5 in league play, second place in the NWL standings.

Knappa scored seven runs in the fifth inning, on eight singles and a walk.

Kate Shear and Brittany Whitted each had two hits in the inning, with other run-scoring singles from Chelsea Cameron, Danielle Donayri and Taryn Hirahara.

Shear was Knappa's top hitter, going 5-for-5 with five RBIs. Donayri struck out seven with two walks and 11 hits allowed.
