FOREST GROVE — The Knappa softball team will head into the state playoffs on a seven-game win streak, following a 4-1 victory over Nestucca Thursday afternoon in a Northwest League seeding game between the second-place Loggers and third-place Bobcats.

The game took place at Pacific University in Forest Grove.

Despite the fact that the Lady Loggers just won three straight against Nestucca to end the regular season, Knappa had to play the 29th-ranked Bobcats one more time in the league playoff, even though all state playoff seeding is done by the OSAA’s RPI rankings.

And once again, Knappa pitcher Kacie Cameron shut down Nestucca, tossing a one-hitter with eight strikeouts.

Cameron and Elliott both had a double to spark the Knappa offense, which finished with six hits.

The Loggers now head to the Sweet 16, which begins next Wednesday. The time and opponent for the Loggers will be announced this weekend.
