VERNONIA — Knappa held off a Vernonia rally in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday, to post a 4-3 Northwest League softball win at Vernonia.

Knappa took a 4-1 lead into the last half inning, when Vernonia scored two runs to come within 4-3. Knappa left fielder Tieara Moore made a big catch in left field to save the win.

Kacie Cameron was the winning pitcher, as the sophomore had eight strikeouts with just three hits allowed. Knappa had four hits, including doubles for Cameron and Maddy Pitts. Emily Goodman and Rea Elliott had the only other hits for Knappa.
