PORTLAND — Knappa remains tied for third in the Northwest League softball standings, following a 5-3, 12-8 doubleheader sweep at Portland Christian Friday.

The Lady Loggers are now 7-5 in league play (10-12 overall), tied with Vernonia, with three games remaining for each team.

Vernonia plays Portland Christian (3-9), while Knappa will face Nestucca (8-4) three times over the next five days.

In Friday’s opener, Knappa pitcher Kacie Cameron shut down the Royals, allowing just two hits with seven strikeouts.

Rea Elliott sparked the Logger offense, going 3-for-4 at the plate.

Stacey Aho was the Knappa pitcher in Game 2, and she scattered five hits with seven strikeouts. After a rough start, Aho did not allow a run over the last five innings.

Stephanie Bue (3-for-3) led the Loggers at the plate, while Cameron was 2-for-4.
