REDMOND - The Seaside girls golf team was in 16th place in the team standings following Round 1 action of the Class 4A/3A/2A/1A state tournament, held Monday at Eagle Crest Ridge Course in Redmond. The tournament concludes today.

Sisters leads the team standings with a 349 team score, followed closely by St. Mary's (355) and Newport (363).

Individually, Kylie Ray of Sutherlin is atop the leaderboard with an 80, one stroke ahead of Newport's Kate Bigelow and North Bend's Kellie Holmstedt.

Seaside carded a 471 team score, led by Monica Osburn (111), currently tied for 77th.

Other Gull scorers were Abbie Huddleston (113), Elie Wiese (123), Jessica Osburn (124) and Katie Cartwright (146).

In the boys' Class 4A tournament at Stone Creek Golf Club in Oregon City, Marist leads the team standings with a 299, a four-stroke lead on Phoenix.

Marist senior Allen Kelley is the individual leader (72), while Astoria sophomore Alex Ferber fired a 13-over par 85 (41st).

Seaside sophomore Devan Flukinger is at 93 after one round, tied for 71st.
