Top four finish for AstoriaHOOD RIVER - Competing against some of the top competition in the state, the Astoria swim teams both had top four finishes in The Dalles Invitational, Saturday in Hood River.

The Astoria boys placed third with 129 points, behind team champion La Grande (189) and Sherwood (148).

Individually, Astoria's Ben Lilley placed third in the 200-yard medley (2:18.58), while Ryan Gallagher, Gordon Eckert, Robbie Weidman and Lilley teamed up to finish second in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:52.66).

La Grande also won the girls' team title, with 197 points. Sherwood was second (165), followed by Gladstone (110) and Astoria (104).

Katie Blue had the top individual finish for the Fish, swimming a 59.97 to place third among more than 50 other competitors.

The Fishermen girls also performed well in the relays. Wendi Agalzoff, Kelly Pierce, Rachel Gascoigne and Blue took second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.59, to Pendleton's 1:55.01). The same four placed third in the 400-yard freestyle relay (4:16.82).

Astoria hosts a dual meet with Tillamook Thursday.
