CLATSKANIE - Warrenton "rallied" for a 15-4 win in Game 1, and scored three runs in the eighth inning of Game 2 for a 10-7 victory and doubleheader sweep at Clatskanie Tuesday.
The Warriors collected 10 hits in both games of the nonleague Junior State twinbill.
Clatskanie scored three runs in the first inning for a quick 3-0 lead in the opener, but Warrenton highlighted the day with 13 runs in the third inning. The inning started with two strikeouts, followed by a big Warrior rally.
Brandon Slaughter started the scoring with a two-run homer, and Kevin Moore capped it with another two-run blast.
Slaughter opened the scoring in Game 2 with a solo home run in the first inning, as the teams battled to a 7-7 tie through seven innings.
The Warriors scored twice in the top of the seventh to tie it, and turned a 6-4-3 double play in the bottom of the inning to send the game to extra innings.
Cody Patterson opened the eighth inning with a single and scored on a double by Moore. Billy Sturgell added a two-run double later in the inning.
