WARRENTON - The Astoria boys soccer team still hasn't suffered a loss in league play - but its record is no longer perfect, as Yamhill-Carlton managed to "upset" the Fishermen in a 0-0 tie Thursday afternoon at the Warrenton Soccer Complex.

"We thoroughly dominated play, and essentially pounded their goalkeeper for 75 minutes," said Astoria coach Bill Patterson. "We just couldn't make the pass to finish it."

The Tigers "played a bunkered-down defense," Patterson said. "They put 10 guys behind the ball, retreated to the 30-yard line and bunkered in.

"And we're not experienced enough to break that down. So we wound up with a 0-0 result."
