Seaside def. North Marion
SEASIDE The Seaside volleyball team scored its second straight win Thursday, with a four-game victory over visiting North Marion, 14-25, 26-21, 25-15, 25-22.
Seaside improves to 2-3 with the win, and will open Cowapa League play Tuesday at home vs. Yamhill-Carlton.
Everyone made important contributions tonight, said Seaside coach Angie Huntsman. The girls are working really hard and improving every day.

Valley Catholic def. Warrenton
WARRENTON Valley Catholic paid its final visit to Warrenton as a member of the Lewis & Clark League, and scored a three-game sweep over the Warriors, 25-10, 25-21, 25-7, in a league match Thursday.
The Valiants and Warriors were tied 20-20 in Game 2, before Valley Catholic was able to pull away.
Freshman Landree Miethe had three kills in 17 attacks for the Warriors, and was 9-of-10 from the service line. Libby Biel added three kills for Warrenton, which plays at South Bend Saturday.
Vernonia def. Knappa
KNAPPA A young Knappa volleyball team continues to improve on the court, but Vernonia still left with a win Thursday night in the Battle of the Loggers.
Vernonia swept the Northwest League match in three games, 25-22, 25-20, 25-18.
The teams battled through numerous lead changes in the first two games.
Knappas night was highlighted by Kenzi Coffey, who sparked her team defensively and in the back row (eight digs, five assists), while Kelsey Kelly was 19-for-19 from the service line, with four blocks and three kills.
Other contributions came from Kacie Cameron (five kills), Stacey Aho (four blocks), Mimi Riffe (five digs), Shania Foley (seven digs) and Stephanie Bue (three blocks).
