Warrenton's Major Cal Ripken Little League baseball team - sponsored by Carlson Contracting, Inc. - won the first-place trophy in a Lower Columbia Cal Ripken tournament, which concluded Saturday at Astoria's Columbia Field.

Double elimination games for the tournament began June 3 and continued throughout the week until Saturday's final, won by Warrenton.

The Warrenton team went undefeated to take first, followed by second-place Knappa and third-place Lewis & Clark.

Other teams in the tournament included P&L Johnson (Astoria), Clatsop Distributing (Astoria), the Mariners (Long Beach, Wash.) and Comet Cafe (Naselle, Wash.).

Coached by Jim Hart and assisted by Jim Rahier, the Warrenton team includes: Josh Biel, Alex Carlson, Matthew Carlson, Matthew Davis, Jordan Hart, Reese Johnson, Billy Kerr, Alex Lampi, Thomas McFadden, Tanner Rahier, Josh Salber and Justin Sleutel.
